ACTIVIST GROUPS

Activist groups focus on a particular demographic, issue, and/or combination of issues.  They organize to effect policy change, by contacting, lobbying or pressuring representatives. Activist groups also are quite involved in organizing, educating and sensitizing the community to engage them in taking action. All of these organizations need volunteers.

Where possible, links to local or state chapters of these groups are provided.  Some of these organizations do not have local chapters but may still be of interest to you for volunteer opportunities and information.
